Yoga
Yoga in the western world is mostly focused on the physical practice of postures. There are many types of practice formats and they are all important to us at different times. In addition to the physical practice of yoga, the tradition includes several other important practices to help us into a more balanced and healthy state – inside and out.
In my more than 500 hours of teacher training, I have learned to combine postures, breathing techniques, various meditation styles, self-study practices, and other methods to personalize a yoga practice to what individuals and groups may need or desire. We are all different and that is the importance of knowing ourselves and our needs and then implementing the different aspects of yoga in a way that moves us into our best selves. In a group practice, we can build practices that are not only fun for the specific demographic, but can also benefit each individual.
My goal as a yoga teacher is to make yoga accessible to all, fun to do, and beneficial to the health and well-being of all of my students. I love to encourage others to make each practice their own whether it be various enhancements to poses or options for breathwork practices. Yoga isn’t about me and my abilities and knowledge, it is about YOU and developing the skills needed to embark on your own path to your true and best self.
